Theory of Belonging: 'Youth Joining Gangs'

Gang membership among youths have a devastating impact on children, youths and their families. 60,000 youths aged 10-17 years identify as a gang member or know a relative who is. This has risen exponentially, to 300,000 of young people who know someone in a gang, according to the national youth agency. (NYA)
